A wardrobe from here to the future. Formations is an exhibition that envisions a new era of fashion and clothing. It is a journey into the potential of modular design and its ability to create sustainable, inclusive, and adaptable garments. Modular clothing blurs and redraws the boundaries of traditional garments. A favourite piece of clothing can be many: an adaptable whole that morphs with its wearer’s needs: shirt to skirt, skirt to trousers. A garment becomes a set of endless possibilities rather than a fixed, unchanging shape. Each piece in the collection is crafted from square-shaped modules whose unique structural design allows for endless combinations. But modularity isn’t just a technical solution—it’s a new way of thinking about clothing, ownership, and fashion itself. Could the wardrobe of the future be nothing more than a stack of modules, creatively and playfully assembled into ever-changing outfits? We change—so why shouldn’t our clothes?
